Grande et très décorative coupe de forme libre en faïence émaillée réalisée par Arlette Roux, céramiste française active au XXe siècle à Juan-les-Pins.
La pièce présente une forme organique et sculpturale particulièrement réussie, caractérisée par une importante remontée sur l’un des côtés. L’intérieur est recouvert d’un superbe émail rouge profond et brillant, animé de variations de matière et de nuances plus sombres. L’extérieur contraste par un émail blanc-gris ponctué de coulures et de tonalités bleu-vert.
Cette opposition entre le rouge intense de l’intérieur, les émaux plus clairs de l’extérieur et la forme libre donne à cette grande coupe une présence très graphique, typique des recherches de la céramique française du milieu du XXe siècle.
La pièce est signée au dos et située « Juan », pour Juan-les-Pins.

Large and highly decorative free-form glazed earthenware bowl by Arlette Roux, a French 20th-century ceramic artist active in Juan-les-Pins on the French Riviera.
This striking piece features a particularly successful organic and sculptural form, rising dramatically on one side. The interior is covered with a superb deep glossy red glaze, enhanced by subtle variations in texture and darker tones. The exterior provides a beautiful contrast with its white-gray glaze accented by blue-green flowing effects.
The combination of the intense red interior, lighter exterior glazes and expressive free-form silhouette gives this large bowl a strong sculptural presence characteristic of French mid-century studio ceramics.
The piece is signed on the underside and marked “Juan,” for Juan-les-Pins, France.
