Bruno H’drÿ / H’dry est un céramiste français né en 1945 et disparu prématurément en 1991. Formé à l’École des Métiers d’Art de Paris, il a notamment été marqué par l’enseignement de Jean Lerat, figure majeure de la céramique française moderne. Installé dans le Cher, non loin de La Borne, il développe une production personnelle en grès, tournée et modelée, en privilégiant les pièces uniques ou réalisées en très petites quantités.
Il travaillait lui-même ses terres, ses émaux et ses cuissons, recherchant une expression sobre, minérale et profondément artisanale.
Son œuvre s’inscrit dans la grande tradition du grès français du XXe siècle, avec une attention particulière portée à la matière, à l’équilibre des formes et aux effets naturels de la cuisson.

Description
Cylindrical glazed stoneware vase by Bruno H’drÿ — also known as Bruno H’dry — a French studio potter associated with the strong tradition of French stoneware and the spirit of La Borne.
The piece has a simple, powerful cylindrical form with a slightly irregular handmade presence. The exterior displays a beautiful reddish-brown stoneware surface, enriched with darker firing effects, blue-black speckles and subtle horizontal throwing lines. The interior is covered with a warmer honey-brown glaze, giving the piece depth and character.
A very decorative studio pottery piece, combining rustic strength, modern simplicity and expressive ceramic surfaces.

About the Artist
Bruno H’drÿ / H’dry was a French ceramic artist born in 1945 and deceased in 1991. He trained at the École des Métiers d’Art in Paris and was influenced by Jean Lerat, an important figure in modern French ceramics. After settling in the Cher region, close to the ceramic center of La Borne, he developed a highly personal body of work in stoneware, creating both thrown and modeled pieces.
He was deeply involved in every stage of production, from preparing clay and glazes to firing his work. Rather than producing large series, he favored individual pieces with strong material presence, balanced forms and expressive firing surfaces. His work belongs to the important French studio pottery tradition of the second half of the 20th century.
