Belle coupe sur petit talon en grès émaillé par Nathalie Pierlot, signée du monogramme au dos. La pièce présente un superbe émail rose nuancé, animé de variations orangées, beige clair, vert olive et brun, avec un bel effet craquelé en surface.
La forme, sobre et légèrement creuse, met particulièrement en valeur le travail de matière et les nuances de l’émail. Il s’agit d’une pièce décorative de belle facture, à la fois douce dans ses tonalités et très présente visuellement, caractéristique d’une approche sensible du grès contemporain.
État
Bon état général.
Un petit défaut d’émaillage d’environ 2 mm est présent au centre de la coupe. Cette particularité reste discrète et n’altère pas la belle présentation générale de la pièce.

Biographie
Nathalie Pierlot est née en 1951 à Paris, l’année où ses parents, Jeanne et Norbert Pierlot, s’installent au Château de Ratilly, dans l’Yonne. Elle grandit dans cet environnement profondément lié à la céramique, au grès et aux échanges artistiques, en apprenant la poterie auprès de ses parents et des nombreux potiers venus enseigner à Ratilly.
Après des études de psychologie à Paris, elle revient en Puisaye en 1977 pour se consacrer pleinement à la poterie. En 1988, elle reprend l’entreprise familiale des Grès de Ratilly, tout en poursuivant ses propres recherches autour des formes, des matières, des cuissons et des émaux. Son travail s’inscrit dans la tradition du grès de Puisaye, avec une attention particulière portée aux émaux de cendres, aux terres locales, aux ocres et aux cuissons à haute température.
Ses pièces ont été présentées dans plusieurs expositions consacrées à la céramique contemporaine française, notamment à Paris, Avallon, Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, Troyes, Clamart et Hong Kong.

Beautiful small-footed stoneware bowl by French ceramic artist Nathalie Pierlot, signed with the artist’s monogram on the reverse. The piece features a refined pink glazed surface with subtle orange, pale beige, olive green and brown variations, enhanced by a beautiful crackled effect.
Its simple, shallow form gives full presence to the glaze and material work. This is a very attractive decorative ceramic piece, elegant in tone and visually expressive, reflecting a sensitive approach to contemporary French stoneware.
Condition
Good overall condition.
There is a small glaze flaw of approximately 2 mm in the center of the bowl. This remains discreet and does not affect the overall presentation of the piece.

Biography
Nathalie Pierlot was born in Paris in 1951, the same year her parents, Jeanne and Norbert Pierlot, settled at the Château de Ratilly in Burgundy. She grew up in an environment deeply connected to stoneware, pottery and artistic exchange, learning ceramics from her parents and from the many potters who came to teach at Ratilly.
After studying psychology in Paris, she returned to the Puisaye region in 1977 to devote herself fully to pottery. In 1988, she took over the family workshop known as Grès de Ratilly, while continuing her own personal research into forms, materials, firings and glazes. Her work belongs to the strong stoneware tradition of Puisaye, with particular attention to ash glazes, local clays, ochres and high-temperature firings.
Her ceramics have been shown in several exhibitions dedicated to contemporary French ceramics, including in Paris, Avallon, Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, Troyes, Clamart and Hong Kong.
