Biographie
René Terras (1945-2023) est un céramiste et sculpteur installé à Pierrefeu-du-Var, dans le Var. Formé à la décoration puis à la sculpture, notamment aux Beaux-Arts de Nîmes, il développe à partir de 1973 un travail personnel en céramique, nourri par son passage dans différents ateliers de poterie. Son œuvre se distingue par des formes libres, souvent sculpturales, et par une recherche sensible autour de la matière et des émaux.

René Terras (1945-2023) was a French ceramist and sculptor based in Pierrefeu-du-Var, in the South of France. Trained in decorative arts and sculpture, including studies at the Fine Arts school in Nîmes, he developed his own ceramic practice from 1973 onward after working in various pottery workshops. His work is distinguished by free, often sculptural forms and a sensitive exploration of material and glaze.
