SUZANNE RAMIÉ (1905-1974) – ATELIER MADOURA, VALLAURIS Vase « Oiseau » – circa 1950 – Céramique émaillée
Très beau et élégant vase zoomorphe dit « Oiseau » réalisé par Suzanne Ramié pour l’atelier Madoura à Vallauris, vers 1950.
La pièce présente une forme ovoïde particulièrement épurée, dont la silhouette évoque subtilement celle d’un oiseau. Le corps généreusement galbé se prolonge par un petit col légèrement décentré et modelé, suggérant la tête et le bec. L’ensemble est recouvert d’un très bel émail blanc crème nuancé, brillant et légèrement moucheté, caractéristique des recherches de Suzanne Ramié autour de formes simples, organiques et sculpturales.
Cachet « MADOURA PLEIN FEU » sous la base.

État :Très bon état général. Aucun accident important à signaler. Les éventuelles petites irrégularités de forme, de surface ou d’émail sont inhérentes au caractère artisanal de la pièce et à sa cuisson.

À propos de Suzanne Ramié :Suzanne Ramié (1905-1974), née Suzanne Douly, est l’une des personnalités majeures du renouveau de la céramique française à Vallauris. Formée aux Beaux-Arts de Lyon, notamment dans les domaines de la décoration et de la céramique, elle s’installe à Vallauris avec son mari Georges Ramié et fonde en 1938 l’atelier Madoura. Elle développe un langage personnel mêlant héritage de la poterie méditerranéenne, formes organiques et modernité. Marc Chagall

Beautiful and elegant zoomorphic “Oiseau” (Bird) vase designed by Suzanne Ramié for the Madoura workshop in Vallauris, circa 1950.
The vase features a remarkably pure, sculptural ovoid form subtly suggesting the silhouette of a bird. Its generously rounded body rises into a small, slightly offset modeled neck evoking a head and beak. The surface is covered with a beautiful creamy white glazed finish, subtly speckled and nuanced, perfectly illustrating Suzanne Ramié's interest in simple, organic and sculptural forms.

Condition:Very good overall condition. No significant damage to report. Any minor irregularities in shape, surface or glaze are consistent with the handcrafted nature and firing process of the ceramic.

About Suzanne Ramié:Suzanne Ramié (1905-1974), born Suzanne Douly, was one of the leading figures in the revival of French ceramics in Vallauris. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, she settled in Vallauris with her husband Georges Ramié and founded the Madoura workshop in 1938. Her work combined Mediterranean pottery traditions with a distinctly modern vocabulary of simplified and organic forms. Marc Chagall
