Vase en grès noir signé au tampon par David Miller (1942–2008), céramiste britannique reconnu, actif en France.

Circa 1980-90, réalisée à une période où l’artiste participait régulièrement au Printemps des Potiers de Bandol, événement auquel il contribua activement en tant que représentant de la céramique studio anglaise contemporaine.
Le vase, tourné à la main, présente une forme galbée et élancée, légèrement resserrée au col. La surface est couverte d’une couverte sombre satinée, traversée d’une scarification dorée appliquée à cru, créant un contraste subtil et une tension visuelle caractéristique de son style.

Black stoneware vase signed with the impressed seal of David Miller (1942–2008), a renowned British potter active in France during the 1980s.
This piece, dated circa 1980-90, was made during the period when Miller regularly took part in the Printemps des Potiers in Bandol, a major event connecting British and French contemporary ceramics.
The vase has an elegant, rounded form narrowing toward the neck, covered in a dark satin glaze highlighted by a golden scarification line, creating a subtle contrast and visual rhythm typical of the artist’s mature work.
A fine balance of form and spontaneity, fully embodying Miller’s expressive minimalism.
