Biographie de l’artiste 
Gisèle Buthod-Garçon (née en 1954 à Salon-de-Provence) vit et travaille à Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie. Très tôt marquée par son lien à la terre et à la nature, elle développe une approche singulière du raku, mêlant émaux gras et enfumage.
Après plusieurs années en production utilitaire, elle se consacre entièrement à sa création artistique à partir de 1982, construisant son propre four à bois et adoptant le raku américain inspiré par Paul Soldner.
Ses nombreux voyages en Afrique et en Asie nourrissent son œuvre, apportant une grande richesse formelle et spirituelle. Son travail est aujourd’hui reconnu pour sa force sculpturale et la profondeur poétique de ses surfaces.

Artist Biography 
Gisèle Buthod-Garçon (born 1954 in Salon-de-Provence) lives and works in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie. Deeply connected to the land since childhood, she developed a distinctive approach to raku, blending rich glazes and smoke-firing.
After several years in utilitarian ceramic production, she devoted herself fully to artistic creation from 1982, building her own wood-fired kiln and adopting American-style raku inspired by Paul Soldner.
Her many travels across Africa and Asia greatly enriched her work, bringing new forms, textures and spiritual influences.
