Roger Capron – Glazed Ceramic Tile Coffee Table – Vallauris – Signed

Beautiful Roger Capron (1922-2006) coffee table featuring a rectangular top composed of glazed earthenware ceramic tiles set on a metal base.

The highly decorative composition combines a deep black background with a series of stylized human figures, faces and animals, rendered in shades of white, gray and blue. The figurative tiles are rhythmically arranged across the tabletop, alternating with large black areas and creating a striking graphic composition.

The table is signed “R. Capron” on one of the corner tiles.

A very attractive example of Roger Capron’s work in Vallauris and of his distinctive approach to combining decorative ceramics with furniture design.

Condition

Good overall condition.

Some oxidation and signs of age are visible on the metal base, consistent with the age and use of the piece.

There is also a very small and barely noticeable restoration to one corner of the tabletop, close to the signature, probably following a minor old chip. The restoration is discreet and does not affect the overall appearance of the table.

Please refer to the detailed photographs.
